Cook'n Review and Giveaway

Thanks to Coupons In Motion for this Review and Giveaway!

Cook'n is an Online Recipe Organizer

Recipe cards, pages cut from magazines, family recipes written on notebook paper, index cards. Yep, I have all of those stuck in various places. Mostly in a large plastic container in one of my bottom kitchen cabinets and in a kitchen drawer. And when I want a particular recipe, I have to dig through both places 'cause I don't remember where I put the one I'm looking for. Fess up. Does this sound like you? Where do you "keep" all your recipes? Do you have lots of cookbooks laying around that only have 1 or 2 recipes in them that you actually use? Do you like using your computer to stay organized? Then this is the product for you! COOK'N!

Cook'n is the The Easiest Way to:

  • Find the Best Recipes on the Internet
  • Capture and Save Internet Recipes
  • Enter Your Own Personal Recipes
  • Sync Recipes with iPhone, iPad, & Android
  • Print a Family Cookbook

Cook'n is several products in one

1) Recipe Manager

  • Easily add your own recipes
  • Capture hundreds of internet recipes
  • Create and organize cookbooks with different chapters
  • Search for recipes by what foods you have on hand
  • Easily change recipe serving sizes to automatically convert ingredient amounts
My thoughts on adding recipes. I did have a little bit of a problem when I first tried to "capture" (import) a recipe. I was following the instructions but it didn't pull the recipe in as stated. After doing a little searching in the HELP section, I found my answer. Cook'n is not set up to pull recipes from some websites, although the publishers are working on this issue. I was trying to pull a recipe from KraftFoods.com and was not able to. However, I found the same recipe on Delish.com and it "captured" it with no problem.
When you are trying to find a recipe that you would like to add to your personal cookbook, you just type in what you are looking for, such as: brownies, slow cooker roast beef, macaroni salad, etc. The search engine in Cook'N then scours the internet to find you a recipe. This search option brings you up one or more recipes from different sources that meet your criteria. You can then look at the different recipes to determine which one you would like to import.
You can create many different cookbooks with different themes. It's a lot of fun just trying out all the different options available in this program.
I also tried entering my own recipes that I have on hand. Talk about easy! The format of Cook'n is very easy to follow. You just start typing and the program helps you along. Start typing "te" for teaspoon and it brings it up in a drop-down list. "C" and it brings up cup. And so on. You can have your recipes added to your cookbook in no time at all.

2) Menu Planner

  • Use your recipes to make meal menu plans
  • Create your own weekly, monthly, and yearly menus
  • Automatically generate a shopping list from your menus
  • Print your menus and stick them on the fridge

3) Grocery Shopping Assistant

  • Organizes shopping list items by aisle
  • Converts to package sizes (e.g., tablespoon tomato paste to 8 oz. cans)
  • Choose which brands you want for your foods
  • Calculates your grocery cost

4) Personal Home Nutritionist
