groOrganic’s Garden Planner Review

I was given the opportunity to review this online garden planner for 30 days. I have to say that I did not get to use it much for actual gardening because the weather in Washington has been dreary.

I did however attempt to set up my patio to feature my garden for when it started to become better. And this is where my review comes from.

I have to say though I thought it was a little complicated at first. Without reading all the tutorials and knowing what I was doing I really was at a loss for words. out of the 30 days, I spent about 10 of them trying to learn the system and the program and all the mechanics of it.

While I am sure it is a great system for those who would have it longer...a 30 day review of it just was not enough time in my opinion to give it an adequate review. But based on what I do know and what I did do it would appear to be a great system.

There is nothing to really download on to your computer. The set up and layout of the system program appears to be non-complex. However like I said getting to the knowledge to adequately use it takes some time.

They do have a video to help you learn, which is a good thing but of course I did not use it until after having it for a few days. It was a great thing to watch and learn from.

Would I purchase this for myself? Maybe if I had a larger area or wanted to get the most out of the small area I have. But since I just want to plant a few items, it did not really work out good for me.

I do have to say though, if you want to be able to grow your own garden and live in an area like apartments or have a limited space to plant... this is a great program I think for that.
Organic gardening is a popular subject today. Many are becoming aware of the benefits of eating organically and growing vegetables and fruit in their own backyards. This is not a new concept. Rather it is a very OLD concept. The “conventional” gardening and farming of today relies on the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. “Organic” gardening and farming restricts the use of artificial chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Instead, organic growers rely on developing a healthy fertile soil and growing a mixture of crops. This is the way our grandparents or great grandparents grew their produce.

Unfortunately, we have to re-learn how to grow food. This is a lost art to many inexperienced gardeners. We have many sources to help begin a new gardening project if we have the desire to do so. New ideas to make gardening easier for the novice as well as for the experienced gardener are readily available on the internet and in gardening books. How-To videos will even show you step-by-step the building of raised planter beds. But then what? Wouldn’t it be great if you could just type in your zip code and have a gardening program remind you when to plant and when to harvest? Wouldn’t it be great to enjoy the convenience of growing your own produce without the back-breaking weeding of the past?
